The Heart of Who I Am

Kindness has always been at the centre of who I am. It is how I relate to the world, especially when it comes to animals. I am naturally calm and gentle and I take my time to really listen. I do listen deeply, especially to the animals, who are so often longing to be truly heard. Animals respond so beautifully to that – they know when someone is truly present with them. I am someone who loves to support and encourage; I find joy in helping. I feel most at ease in peaceful spaces, one-to-one or in the soft companionship of animals. Crowds overwhelm me, but give me a room full of furry friends and I will feel right at home.

Spending time in nature helps me to feel grounded again – the feel of the earth beneath my feet, the whisper of leaves in the breeze, or the stillness of a quiet woodland path. Whether I am walking with my dogs or just pausing with my hand on a tree, I can feel the earth’s quiet rhythm, steady and reassuring. It helps me slow down, breathe a little deeper, and reconnect with what matters.

My love of books began when I was just eighteen months old, my eyes lighting up when I saw them, even before I could read the words they contained. They have always been a source of comfort and knowledge for me. Reading gives me space to recharge, to learn, and to get lost in other worlds and other times.

How I can Help

"First off I want to tell you that she came out and watch as I read this...and then once she saw how it was received went back to her place in the bedroom to rest and is purring. We can never thank you enough for this and for helping us both during this time!! You so saw her completely..you are so gifted and the animals that you touch so blessed."

About Me

Rescue dogs have been some of my greatest teachers. At present, I share my life and home with three Romanian rescue dogs. Every dog I have welcomed into my life has been adopted, and each one has gently guided me towards a deeper understanding of fear, trust and the quiet power of connection. Each one has brought their own story, their own fears, and their own quiet wisdom.

In 2008, I brought home a shut-down dog whose spirit had been dimmed by life’s hardships. With time, gentleness and love, she slowly came out of her shell and blossomed into the beautiful soul she truly was. A year later, a troubled boy from Ireland joined us. He was deeply fearful and reactive, struggling to feel safe in the world. Supporting him became a turning point and taught me new ways of being more present, more patient, more attuned to what he needed, and he nudged me into learning new modalities to help him – zoopharmacognosy with essential oils and later, flower essences, both of which I trained in as a practitioner. His trust grew and he flourished beautifully.

After his passing in 2019, I adopted a Romanian rescue who had spent a year in a public shelter after being horrifically caught by dog catchers. She arrived frozen by fear, either shutting down or trying to flee. She needed a soft, slow approach, a huge amount of patience, and we took each step at her pace and every small moment of trust we built felt like a gift.

I have ridden, looked after and spent time with ponies and horses, loaned and owned, from the age of five. I spent some years volunteering at a horse sanctuary, offering essential oils for self-selection (zoopharmacognosy) and energy healing. I worked with horses that were scared of people. Gaining their trust and changing their lives was so very rewarding.

These dogs and horses have taught me to listen even more deeply and to meet each being where they are. Their lessons live at the heart of everything I share.

Honouring Your Animal’s Emotions and Experiences

I know how much your animal means to you and how important it is to feel that they will be truly seen, not just as a collection of behaviours, but as the sensitive, unique being they are. You might be wondering how I will approach their struggles, and whether it will feel gentle enough, respectful enough, right for them. I want you to know that I meet every animal with deep care and calm attention.

Over the years, I have learned just how individual each animal’s experience is. There is never just one cause, or one simple answer. Their fears and reactions are often woven from many subtle threads and when we take the time to listen and understand those threads, real change can begin. This is not about fixing your companion. It is all about supporting them in a way that helps them to feel safe, understood and free to grow into who they truly are, at their own pace.

If you are wondering what this kind of gentle support looks like in practice, I would love to share with you how I work and how it can help your animal to feel safe, seen, and supported.
